About Abbott

Abbott School is a safe, nurturing environment for students with learning disabilities. Parents, staff and community members work collaboratively to improve academic achievement and coping skills, giving students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 whatever they need to succeed and return to a regular classroom setting.

We provide full-day Kindergarten programming, Strategies, and for Kindergarten to Grade 2, a Cree Language program. At Abbott School, you’ll also find Leveled Literacy Intervention, 6+1 Traits of Writing, Power of 10 and Balanced Literacy, Reading Recovery and, starting at Grade 4, French as a Second Language. We also have both ABC Head Start and the Aboriginal Head Start program (Mother Earth and Me). All students are provided with breakfast, lunch and a daily snack.
