Abbott School is an inclusive learning community. We create a trauma sensitive environment that provides a safe place for learning and promotes academic achievement. Abbott School staff work collaboratively with a variety of agencies and partners to ensure every student is provided the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to be self-reliant, critical thinkers who are responsible and caring members of society. We use targeted strategies and resources to engage students in their learning and guide them to self-assessment and support them in establishing meaningful learning goals for personal success. Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to a new year of learning at Abbott School. We are excited about the year ahead. We are welcoming many new staff and students to our Abbott School Community, We have over 200 students learning in our school.
We have a strong group of parents who meet every Thursday morning to volunteer to help prepare materials for classrooms. Our Parent Heroes group meets Thursday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30 with the support of Ms. Mardi Bernard our School Mental Health Nurse.
The education of our children may well be the most important work in our society. Because of this we want to create the best possible learning environment for all. We do this through the efforts of a very professional team that includes our school staff, partner agencies, other District staff, School Trustees and of course our parent community. Parents are essential partners in the education of children. We look forward to this shared journey in support of your children’s education.
