Student Safety
Parents who bring their children to school are asked to drop them off and pick them up on the street by the main entrance or playground. Please do not use the parking lots as they become very congested and create safety issues for students. For the safety of students and staff, the following policy is in place. The front door only will remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. therefore if a student is late or someone wishes to enter the school this can only be done through the front door. All students assemble at their regular doors before entering the school at regular times. Supervisors will let students into the school at these doors.

Supervision
Playground supervision is provided for fifteen minute periods in the morning and afterschool, as well as at recess periods. For safety reasons we ask that students arrive no earlier than 8:20 a.m. at Abbott School and 8:25 a.m. at R.J. Scott School. Students are expected to remain outdoors unless the weather is inclement.

Safety Patrols
School A.M.A. Patrols are used at both schools and we ask that all adults please co-operate with safety patrollers while crossing the streets. It is important that parents set a good example when it comes to safely crossing busy roads by crossing in the crosswalks and reminding their children about traffic safety precautions and ask them to follow the School Patrol rules.
